In February 2022 I’ve spent 2 weeks working on this lovely living room at Basterfield house. The aim of the project was to sand down all the wood work and bring it back to original glory. The biggest challenge was to work on the stairs as they could not be taken apart. I’ve managed to sand it down and I applied a natural, matt looking varnish. The woodwork around the windows was so tired and satined that only after sanding I discovered it original nearly red brown colour. The floor required a lot of attention as the floor tiles were very thin and needed replacing and glueing. The end effect is stunning, modern, fresh and natural, just as the Christoph Bon, the architect who detailed the maisonettes intended.
